Today is a special day of celebration, as it is my 23rd birthday! This day encourages me to examine how far I have come, what I have learnt in the past year and to pursue goals that I have not yet had time for. This year I have really started to dress more sustainably and lead a more minimal lifestyle – and I am very proud of myself for that. My goals for this upcoming year are to buy less, buy used, buy better and only buy items made from natural materials.
This year my celebration is a little more glamorous, as I was gifted this beautiful rose gold bracelet from Paris Jewellers. Paris Jewellers is a Canadian luxury jewellery retail brand that is co-owed by two sisters. Nothing quite like the inspiration of these successful women to motivate me to accomplish my goals!
Jacket: thrifted vintage (wool) / Sweater: thrifted Express Tricot (100% cotton) / Jeans: Calvin Klein (100% cotton) / Purse: designed and handmade by VEIN Design – Vanja Knezic (100% cotton) / Shoes: Aldo / Bracelet: Paris Jewellers /
A few years ago, I did not own any rose gold jewellery, however in this past year I have grown very fond of rose gold. Rose gold is such a soft and warm colour, which makes it flattering on every skin tone. I like how this bracelet has a dainty adjustable drawstring, perfect for my petite wrists. It also sparkles brilliantly and adds eye-catching detail to any outfit.
Thank you Paris Jewellers for adding some glam to my birthday celebration! Find this bracelet and many more beautiful pieces at Paris Jewellers, located in Midtown Plaza and Lawson Heights Mall.

I was incredibly lucky to be able to spend most of yesterday with Kim from Chel Photo. I am continually thankful for our collaborations. Here are some of the photos that resulted from our creative process.
This dress was my mom’s in the 1980s – so thankful that she kept a lot of her old wardrobe.
This suede jacket is one of my favourites. I love how the style is almost a replica of the style made popular by the punk-rocker era. Also this choker is one of my new favourite additions to my jewelry collection, it is from Hillberg and Berk.
These beautiful sheer pieces are designed and made by Laurie Brown. I wore this exact top in my very first runway show back in 2014 for Laurie Brown.
I will continue to be a huge supporter of socks and heels.
Here are the trousers featured in my last post, I am clearly obsessed.
Thank you again Kim for such a great day at your studio!
I found these 1980s trousers at Northside Antiques when I was at the lake this summer. I’ve been on the hunt for this style of pant for years now and I am so excited that I finally found a pair that fit!

My favourite time of the year is when all of the trees and bushes are in full bloom. They look incredible – but I adore the aroma that the flowers give off the most. I wish the flowers lasted all summer long, but I figured why not dress like it all summer long?

I am very excited and proud to announce that this entire outfit is all secondhand clothing and accessories. Buying clothes secondhand saves the atmosphere from further carbon pollution and the world from further chemical toxicity that would have been produced to create new clothing. Not only is my entire outfit all secondhand, but it is all made from natural fibres that will break down eventually – unlike synthetic clothing which releases plastic microfibres every time it is washed, which has lead to a massive pollution problem. I also want to mention that this entire outfit costed me around $100 Canadian. You can buy secondhand clothing, save money (and donate/spend it on things that really matter), and still look amazing! I encourage you to scout out your local thrift stores, vintage stores and Value Villages and have fun discovering treasures and embracing your true style through a more earth-friendly alternative.

Even though almost everything I wear is black, I do have an affinity for sparkly accessories & I think I found the perfect sparkle! Hillberg and Berk Sparkle Ball earrings are my new favourite! Hillberg and Berk is an internationally recognized Canadian company. What do I love more than these beautiful earrings – the empowerment of women. Hillberg and Berk gives back to organizations that support women, and that is very close to my heart. Make spirits bright this Christmas and holiday season with H&B Sparkle Ball Earrings!

Have you ever seen anything as beautiful as this blue velvet coat? I’m obsessed. This is part of a series of outfits I put together for my feature on the Sasktel blog. Winter style does not have to be boring with bold and unique jackets! When styling a striking jacket, stick to a monochrome outfit so it doesn’t look too busy and to allow your jacket to pop! Thank you Nicole Romanoff for your photography!
