Stepping Back in Time

2016tiaranromanoff-39
This is the last of the outfits that I put together for the Sasktel blog. This long vest is a favourite statement piece of mine – I love the little cross stitches. I am mixing textures with the vest and a mesh Laurie Brown shirt. My favourite part about this outfit however is the shoes. These shoes were my great aunt’s in the 1930s. So thankful that we share the same shoe size! Thank you Nicole Romanoff for your wonderful photography!

See Through Me

Tiara (NRomanoff)-7
Here is PART II of my collaboration with Laurie Brown and Nicole Romanoff! I love these sheer pieces, and how they create such an edgy, yet feminine look. All of Laurie’s pieces are so high fashion and unique, I love wearing them!

Here I introduced a sporty element to Laurie’s sheer nude skirt, as I have watched athletic wear become very popular in street styles (Which I’m not surprised by as it is so comfortable).

Laurie’s high-waisted underwear are so fun, with the textured material and sheer cut-outs! They are the perfect statement piece to put under her sheer garments.

Here I layered a mesh dress of mine with Laurie’s mesh pieces, and I love the look it creates – layering mesh may be something I do more often!

I love how Laurie’s designs are so delicate and soft, yet they create such a bold look. Huge thanks to Nicole and Laurie for helping me do what I love!

Drowning in Laurie Brown

Tiara (NRomanoff)-25
I am excited to show you Laurie Brown’s Fall 2015 Knit Collection! This collaboration was captured by Nicole Romanoff of Nicole Romanoff Photography! I have always admired Laurie’s creativity, and all the unique and gorgeous pieces she creates. Laurie knitted these pieces with comically long knitting needles, and the bulky knit patterns that result are quite beautiful (not to mention extremely warm and comfortable)! These pieces created a high-end fashion look, I almost felt like I was doing a shoot for Vogue!

SFDF Deconstructed Runway

SFDF5
This years first night of Saskatoon Fashion & Design Festival was held in Bottega Trattoria, which easily set the mood for the deconstructed runway. From the hanging glass lights and tin ceiling to the compartmentalized viewing areas, the place made for a very unique night of fashion.
SFDF2
Once again I am very excited and thankful to have a media pass for the SFDF weekend, as this weekend is my favourite in Saskatoon. So much creativity and energy is put into SFDF, every day is inspiring.
SFDF4
Laurie Brown had her beautiful dresses on display throughout the night, and the models wore very unique headpieces. I have to be honest and admit that I lusted over these dresses.

SFDF6

The fashion show started, with the models being helped to step onto and off of wooden platforms. They made their way around in a circle, then exited. I personally wished they were out for longer! I loved looking at all the details of the outfits, and appreciating all the work that had been put into them.

Saskatchewan Fashion Week

SKF1
I am so happy I was accepted to come blog about Sask Fashion Week in Regina, because as usual, our local talent blew me away! I am so proud of all our local designers and models and everyone else who makes these wonderful events happen. They are an excellent showcase of the creativity and artistry that this province has to offer.

The decorations made for this event were so beautiful, I enjoyed that they were made with antlers and plants. Overall the entire setup was clean and beautiful.
I loved how supportive and excitable the crowd was! It was also great to look around and see what other local fashionistas were wearing as well. Such an exciting night for fashion.

Modelling for ‘Ensemble: Dress for Success’

April has been a busy month! Final exams finished and I jumped right into modelling for two fashion shows here in Saskatoon, Choc’ laCure and Ensemble. I am so honoured that I was able to participate in these fashion shows and I am all for the causes that they support. All these wonderful photos are curtesy of Kim, from Chel Photo.

I was very lucky to model for 5 local designers/boutiques:

I am so impressed that high-end fashion events like this exist in Saskatoon, and that they are so well put together and are a beautiful collaboration of local talent.

I want to extend a huge thank you to the people who made this event happen, and for helping me through it, as I had never modelled before. Huge thanks to Masala Model Talent, to Chel Photo for the photography, Chel Salon Spa for the hair & makeup, Saskatoon Fashion and Design Festival and Mandy Pravda & Jacqueline Conway! You all helped to make this a night that will not be forgotten!
