Midnight Blue

Here is another one of the outfits I put together for my feature on the Sasktel blog. I am notorious for wearing black outfits – I accessorize to keep them interesting! This leather jacket is probably one of the best purchases I’ve made! I’m keeping it local with incorporating designs from Laurie Brown & Hunt of Hounds, both located in Canada. Thank you to Nicole Romanoff  for your photography!

Socks and Heels

Back at last! I have been so busy and caught up in my studies recently but I am almost done term one of this year! The inspiration behind this outfit was watching the Park Luxe fashion show a year ago – some of the models were wearing socks and heels! I adored it, however the people I was sitting beside did not seem to fancy this trend as much as I did. So I was hesitant to wear that combination for the longest time until I realized, if I was inspired then what do I have to lose? So here I am in socks and heels and loving every moment of it!
Thanks to Ashley of Live Laugh Love Photography for the photography!

Once again, thank you Ashley for the amazing photography and always capturing my good side!

Heres to all of you to go out and wear something that inspires you without letting other people’s opinions bother you!

Fall Shades

I thought it was appropriate to post this today, as this might be the last of fall in Saskatoon. I am joined here by Cam, a friend who wanted to help add some Men’s fashion to the blog. It is truly all about the layering. As many points of interest you bring into the outfit, without it being overwhelming, is key.
Huge thank you to Josh Campillos for the photography.

I was very lucky to attend PARKLUXE for a second year in a row, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I love how this is an event where our local fashion community can come together, and we can all appreciate and celebrate Canadian designers’ creations! I loved meeting and talking to other bloggers, as well as with the designers, and lusting over all their pieces. This event not only brings awareness to our Canadian designers’ amazing talent, but is also informative about whats hot right now and up-and-coming trends.
Speaking of which, here are the runway looks:

First, lets talk details! I loved how the pastel eyeshadows popped against the natural makeup. The little braids in the ponytails were also a nice detail! The makeup and hair was really inspiring, I cannot wait to try out those looks on myself.
Second, how proud am I of all the talented designers? These pieces were all breathtaking. Tonight was incredible – thanks for having me PARKLUXE!

Drowning in Laurie Brown

Tiara (NRomanoff)-25
I am excited to show you Laurie Brown’s Fall 2015 Knit Collection! This collaboration was captured by Nicole Romanoff of Nicole Romanoff Photography! I have always admired Laurie’s creativity, and all the unique and gorgeous pieces she creates. Laurie knitted these pieces with comically long knitting needles, and the bulky knit patterns that result are quite beautiful (not to mention extremely warm and comfortable)! These pieces created a high-end fashion look, I almost felt like I was doing a shoot for Vogue!

Comfy Layers & Running Shoes

Happy Back to the Future Day! I grew up watching the three movies, I am a huge fan of them and always remember being excited for this day to actually arrive. I created an outfit with running shoes, because today Nike released the Nike power laced shoes ‘Nike MAG’, as featured in the second Back to the Future film. These were the sneakers that Doc gave to Marty to wear on October 21, 2015 and today, Michael J. Fox received a pair from Nike. They are now a reality, and created with the hope to raise even more money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

I think it’s really interesting how much focus the sneakers were given in the 1989 movie, and now in 2015 (as predicted) street style is full of incorporating and making running shoes a key aspect in the overall outfit. The Nike MAG’s may not be my style exactly, but I am already lusting over these shoes, mostly because of the meaning behind them. Now all I need is a DeLorean!

Sweater: Zara (similar)
Jacket: Vero Moda (similar)
Necklace: Soulfari Jewelry

The future is now!
