The Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray Oil Control claims to be “your most powerful oil-control ally. Pros: Since I have oily skin, I do like to set my foundation and concealer with a good layer of powder. However that usually leaves my face looking flat and super matte until my oil starts to work through the powder. With this spray, I can mist it overtop of the powder and it takes away any powder look and leaves a slight glow/dewy look immediately which I like. I have realized that this spray also does help keep my blush on for longer. It also helps my makeup look less cakey when I first apply it; it almost makes the makeup look like it’s my natural skin… (For about 3 to 4 hours).
How To Apply: Make sure to only apply this spray before any eyeliner or mascara is applied, as this spray will make them run. Make sure to spray a good distance away from your face, and mist in an “X” and “T” shape onto your face. It will take about a minute to dry so don’t apply anything overtop of it until it dries completely. If it is sprayed too close or too much is used, I get a tight feeling in my skin and it creates a very visible sheen.
Cons: Near suppertime, I will look at my makeup and see that it has separated, broke down and is greasy looking, especially bad around the t-zone. Also this spray did not help with controlling oil, at all. I still got shiny throughout the day and my makeup did breakdown just as it usually would. It was especially bad in the cheek area on either side of my nose. I have to be careful to spray this far away from my face, and only a few sprays or else this spray actually makes my face look sheer and shinier! Basically this spray actually does everything its not suppose to do…
It lasted me about 3 months and I used it pretty much every day. I do not think I will be repurchasing this as it did NOTHING to help control oil. However I am curious about trying the other Urban Decay Setting Sprays.
